Join us for the Fall Bear Feast

Sunday, November 12th, 12 PM – 5 PM

The Bear Feast is a Mi’qmak ceremony to honor the bear as he prepares to  journey to the Spirit World to gather the medicines needed by the Native People.

All are welcome to attend, young and old alike.

If you are not familiar with this ceremony, please plan to attend to learn more of our Native culture.

The ceremony will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. A circle will be formed and we ask, with the exception of those taking part in the pipe ceremony, to maintain the circle throughout the ceremony.

Women, please wear or bring a skirt to cover your legs.

Bring your hand drums and rattles.

Following the ceremony, there will be some drumming, dancing and then we will have a potluck. Please, bring a dish to share if you plan on attending.

The UNACC store will be open that day.

We hope to see you there.
