THE BEAR FEAST
Doors open at 12:30 pm; ceremony begins promptly at 1 pm. Doors close at 1 pm; no late entry.
CEREMONY: RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR
We welcome you to our Native American Ceremony. These ceremonies are sacred to us. Below is a list of guidelines for respectful behavior for those attending ceremonies.
The Bear Feast is a Mi'kmaw women's ceremony. For those attending, one's legs must be covered (no shorts, short skirts, torn jeans with knee holes, etc.) Traditionally, women wear long skirts. UNACC has long skirts to borrow for the ceremony if you need one. Our two spirit friends should dress as they are normally accustomed to doing; either long pants or long skirts.
Cell phones should be off for the ceremony. If you must keep your phone on silent, please do not check texts, social media, etc. during the ceremony. Your undivided attention should be on the ceremony.
